Redcliffe is one of Brisbane’s Northside hidden treasures, it’s busting at the seams with activities for kids, boasting stunning seaside parks, bbq and picnic areas. A day of family fun on a budget is easy to do on the Peninsular.
Every morning at 10am the Volunteers at the Pelican Park Information Centre in Clontarf head down to the waterfront to feed and check over the pelicans, children and adults are all welcomed and encouraged to come along and help feed these gorgeous Peninsular icons, the best part is it’s free family fun!

The first Saturday of every month you’ll find Scarborough Beaches, Jamison Park coming alive for Scarborough Originals, it is a fantastic display of local musical talents playing on a grass roots style stage. Displays from the local artist (that are for sale) and there are always some amazing food vendors onsite, ranging from the exotic flavors to the can’t go passed sausage sizzle. However, you can bring along your own picnic and then Scarborough Originals turns into a completely free family event!
Being located right beside Scarborough Beaches, The Pirate Park means there are more activities for the kids to do, Including a giant inflatable jumping pillow, Pirate fort with all sorts of ropes and climbing gear, Pirate park is filled with some very grand old Moreton Fig trees which are perfect for the kids. The park is fully fenced as well to keep the kids safe while they run around.
