The main festivities are on the Saturday and Sunday. This is where the fun begins. Again costumes are highly encouraged. A couple of things you should make sure you look out for are the battles featuring the last appearance of the Varangian Guards and the siege of Abbystowe. You’ll see and hear plenty of fire power here as the groups show off all there canons and firepower. The bow and arrow tournaments and the 14th Century Foot Battles are also an amazing display of talent; and, if you stick around after the shows you’ll be able to chat with the actors and experience the different types of weapons they use.
Make sure you stop for lunch around the Queens Court. The Queen, is the one responsible for settling all the disputes, and she may call on you to help resolving the disputes. The festival finishes the day off with a funeral procession that is a feast for the senses, featuring armored Knights, horses, priests, and all the bells and whistles you could imagine at a Medieval Festival. It’s a fantastic way to finish off the day.
